If this is a real Windows message and you believe that a system file may be corrupted, then you would be best off doing a system restore to a date before the problem began. But first I would recommend a scan with Malwarebytes (free version) to confirm that you do not have an infection that is giving you false messages just to cause you to make other problems by thinking you have problems already and maybe following false instructions. If Malwarebytes gives you an all clear, or you still have a message after running it, then do a system restore (use 'show more restore points' if needed). If you are using a laptop, make sure that the power cord is plugged in since you will be running the hard drive hard for a little while and an interruption can cause major problems.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
