32 bit software will run on 64 bit Windows 7 without any special steps being taken. Windows 7 64 bit actually maintains a 32 bit registry in order to accommodate 32 bit programmes.

If you cannot install Autocad the problem is likely to be something more that the 32/64 bit difference. There is the possibility that it wouldn't even install on 32 bit Widows 7 and it is the OS itself that is the problem.

You need to contact Autocad and see what they say about the problem, after all they know there own software better than anyone else.

AutoCAD 2010 is compatible to the following Windows OSes:
Windows 7 (Ultimate, Professional, Home Premium) 32-Bit and 64-Bit
Windows Vista (SP1) (Enterprise, Business, Ultimate, Home Premium) 32-Bit and 64-Bit
Windows XP (SP2 or higher) (Professional, Home) 32-Bit and (Professional 64-Bit)

So it shouldn't be a problem to install AutoCAD on Window 7 64-Bit systems.
Do you get any spezific error message during installation?
Have you searched the support page of AutoDesk?

It could be the install disk or the download that is the problem. If it can be downloaded, try a new copy.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
