You didn't state which virus/malware protection software you have but it's apparently not doing the job. Let us know what you have, maybe one of us will be able to suggest a better alternative.

In the meantime, download & run CCleaner-Slim or CCleaner Portable. Remove everything it finds. It may take quite a while for the initial run & be aware that you may lose any website passwords you have stored. Run the registry scanner & remove everything it finds as well.

After you've done that, reboot into safe mode & run a full scan for viruses & malware.

Also in addition to both above, look into your browser's add ons and disable or uninstall any that you do not absolutely need.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Also perhaps run adwcleaner:

Each of utilities suggested in the posts various here go after different pests; although there is likely some common ground too.

One of the simpler solutions is to install AdBlock Plus to your browsers...you'd be surprised at how many ads it blocks

Have you checked to see if any of the program listed in response #1 Step1-3 are installed (Control Panel > Programs and Features). If any exist uninstalling them should be the first thing you do.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
