Specs: Windows 7
This solid black rectangle just appeared on the uper left of computer monitor when I was downloading software for Adobe Acrobat and I can't select it to even move it. It is over my computer and recycle bin icons plus others. It's really annoying.

I had just installed Adobe Acrobat X Std. If I restore to an earlier time, will I lose this install?

Yep. That install may have been the source of your woes:

I used system restore to a couple of earlier dates and nothing happened. So I decided I was going to contact Adobe since I couldn't use their product. In the meantime, my best friend and I had plans to re-organize my office So we moved my computer to another location. This morning when I turned on my comptuer, the black rectangle was gone. Don't know what happened, but I was simply amazed. Thanks for all your answers. I dont know if it was because I had done the system restores and left my computer off for one day or what.
