how to get audio while watching movies on On

I guess my question is when you are watching movies online, is the volume accidentally muted? What software are you using to watch movies, or is just streaming from a movie service like netflix or something? What browser are you using, if so is your adobe flash player up-to date? Please be more descriptive on whats going on when this happens and what you might think is wrong.
