HOW To format a protected drive?

June 12, 2013 at 09:07:56
Specs: windows7 ultimate b&white, intel
I have two drive C and D . My program files are in C . A few month ago i had installed windows 8 directly without booting to D drive . Now i have deleted the D drive's program files by struggling with unlocker software.. Now I want to format the D drive . But when i select format option. It says ''your drive is unable to format'' . Can I do something for this..

you could try using diskpart.

Open CMD as Admin
type diskpart
type list disk
type select disk x
then type clean

careful that you dont select the wrong disk

Post what is listed for that drive in Windows Disk Management. My guess is you just need to delete the partition/s. Then make new partition/s, THEN format them.

Booting is just the process of restarting your computer.
