Specs: Windows 7
No boot

- Screen remains black

- White caps lock led blinks once every two seconds

- Orange wifi led is on

If never ever see anything at all on the screen then it is almost certainly a hardware fault. We need computer make and model number.

Best to first eliminate the possibility of it being a screen/monitor fault. If it's a PC try another monitor. If it's a laptop try an external.

Someone cured something similar (on an HP) by removing and re-inserting the RAM. Nothing lost trying this but I would clean its edge connectors with a soft pencil eraser before putting it back.

If your computer black screen on startup, don't worry; there are 3 solutions to fix black screen error for Windows 10/8.1/8/7/Vista/XP.

Solution 1. Take out the battery of the black screen laptop:

No display at all makes it unlikely that a software fix will work. The computer is not even getting to the stage where it can boot from anything so no software will load.

Yes indeed, software cannot fix a hardware fault. However we need the poster to confirm that nothing is ever seen on the screen to prove or disprove this - seems like that is what is being said.
