Specs: Windows 7
it works fine but then a horrizional line pops up on the screen and the hell breaks loose the top part of the screen is working fine but the bottom isn't

uninstall the video card from the device manager and check remove drivers, then reboot that will reinstall the naturel drivers, if it still happens, call up the manufacturer and hope that you still have warranty..
if you dont have warranty, you go to youtube and type in your model you will find a video to open your laptop and check/fix any lose fittings etc
but this sounds quite terminal to me. lucky for you a new screen is quite cheap and easy to fix, but if its the video chip, you will probably have to change the whole motherboard.

Basically a few parts to the screen. One is the lcd part. Another is the lamp and ballast. Another is a driver board for the screen and the last is the video adapter section.

It may be possible to chance guess the right part. People do. Usually you can get the entire screen. It comes with the lcd, and usually driver board, lamp and sometimes ballast.

If the video adapter section is bad then you need a new motherboard.

Just junk it and get a new one would be my suggestion.

It can't hurt to try new drivers or even test with live cd/dvd.

1/3 of highway deaths are caused by drunks. The rest are by people who can't drive any better than a drunk.
