Solved How to factory restore a toshiba

Specs: Windows 7
I need to do restore a factory reset on my toshiba usually by hitting f10. It does not give me that option

For a Toshiba with a recovery partition you hold down the 0 (zero) key while powering up. More details here:

Cannot you find it in your startmenu? The proram folder should be named Toshiba (If the operating system is not working propetly, try safe mode)

BUT - before you do a factory reset/factory restore.. have you first safeguarded (copied) all your personal files - photos, documents and the rest - to somewhere safe (off the hard drive completely? Typically to DVD and if possible to another external hard drive too… Check the copies are accessible from the computer that makes them, and ideally one o other as well…

Then consider the factory reset routine…

What model is your Toshiba; and why the need to go the drastic step of a factory restore/reset? It may not be necessary to go that far…?

If you can't start your computer your personal data can be retrieved using a Live Linux CD, provided your RAM and CD drive are working.

one can but hope... that the warning re' data safety will be seriously considered and steps taken to avoid data loss... before any factory rest/restore....
