first you need to make some space next too the C: partition, for instance if you have a D:, save the files and delete the D; partition, then extend the c: partition, and create a new D; with whats left. HOWEVER...its nots always that your C & D are set up as logically as you think, so if you fail in the manner stated above, make an image of the C: partition from the imageing part of win7 backup and restore to an external drive, create a repair cd, boot to cd, and format the whole drive then restore from the image you created, that will ensure you can create the C: partition as big/small as you want and it will be the 1st partition on the drive..

i hate computers!
but cant help myself....

Where do you think you are going to get the space. If you are trying to use some of the Windows restore partition I would advise against doing that. Do will render the restore partition inoperable.

Is there any unallocated space on your disk?

If there are some free space from other partition, then you can use some free tool to do the trick.
