just run the windows cd...and click on update or advanced, choose partition and bingo its all done automatically

i hate computers!
but cant help myself....

Be advised first, that if you have any data you want to save, it'll have to be backed up or you would lose everything in the reformat. Also, the system requirements for Win7 are higher than Vista, so don't expect any performance improvement, either.

That is NOT really true. Depends on your Ram, processor, etc

Well, true. But if his original OS is XP (as stated in his specs), neither Vista or Win7 will be quite as "lively" on his machine without some tweaks.

I'd also warn that the OP ought to know how to recover the system to Vista. It may include making disks now or such process.

1/3 of highway deaths are caused by drunks. The rest are by people who can't drive any better than a drunk.
