How to create New Shortcut on Win 7 desktop?

Specs: Windows 7, 4 Gig
It used to work. I want to right click, select New, then Shortcut. I get nothing. I use W7 Ultimate.

what are you actually trying to do? All you have to do is go to all programs, click on a program and drag it to the desktop and VOILA...there's your shortcut ;-)

EDIT: I tried your way and it was there under New...is your windows 7 registered?

You either need to start at the file/folder you want to make a shortcut to or browse to the file when starting from the desktop.
