How to close a thread/post

How do you properly terminate/delete a thread or post when you get no satisfactory results or responses?

OS: Windows 7 64bit/Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64bit
CPU/Ram: E8500/8GB PC2-6400
Manufacturer/Model: AVA Direct / Built online

As far as I am aware there is no inbuilt feature for thread or post deletions - they don't normally cause any bother. However, you could send a PM to the webmaster Justin Weber who has the ability to do this sort of thing.

Not knowing the post you mean (or whether it has laid dormant for sometime) there might still be further inputs.

It seems like it takes 6 months or a year from the last posting. After that you get a 'this post is old, blah, blah, blah' and it won't let you add anything.

If it's a recent thread you're talking about you might want to give it more time. If it's an older one you could repost it and maybe new eyes could add something.
