how to check size of windows 7 update

Specs: Windows 7, 4gb
Hi all

How i check the actual file size of a windows update,i can seem to find all other details EXCEPT size

I'm monitoring internet usage at my workplace and have noticed large file downloads on certain win7 PC' so i just want to check if windows update is responsible for this.

would be great if i could somehow see the sizes and dates of all Win7 updates

I'm not sure if there is any way to determine the size of update files other than looking at what has been downloaded on a computer.

However, if You have more than a few PCs by far the most efficient way to handle updates is to set up a Windows Update Server. This means that you limit update downloads to just one time, saving on your Internet costs, however many computers you are updating. It also allows you to review and test updates on a single computer before releasing them at large.

Set auto-update to notification. The Update window will tell you what updates are available and the total size of the (selected) KB's.

If there are still large downloads, that point to other applications than Windows update.

Updates size can go up to 500MB +, depending if you have MS software installed like Office Suite etc..
