Your recovery drive or more correctly your recovery partition is not being used. At least not being used unless you are repairing your installation of windows 7 or doing a complete factory restore (wiping the hard drive and returning it to the condition the factory shipped it). If you are looking in 'Computer' and seeing a D-recovery drive, just leave it alone. it will be there if you ever really need it that way. The 'free space' is because HP allocated a little more space than it actually needs, but this is quite normal.

If you have a problem "machine is alittle jittery on completing task." please explain that in more detail and maybe we can help you with that.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

The recovery partition is not a part of Windows but was created by the manufacturer to permit restoration of the system to it's original state. Windows never touches the partition because it has no idea what it is for. Your policy should also be a strict hands-off.
