Specs: Windows 7 64 bit
I pruchased a new computer with Windows 7 64 bit and transferred info from old XP. What a major disappointment to loose all my email in Outlook Express. I need a mail program that I can access off line. The only one I know of is Outlook. Is this correct? How do I transfer my contacts list into Outlook.

Did you get all the Outlook Express folders? The contact data is in the .pab file. The alternative to Outlook is to download and install Windows Live Mail which is the replacement for OE.

XP was using the windows address book .wab file for OE. In order to import it to a new mail program the format is a personal address book .pab which is created when you export the OE address book form OE.

Is the old system still usable? If so open OE and go to the address book and do an export.

As for importing email to Outlook from OE folders you would do an email import from Outlook Express and navigate to the location where you saved the email folders.
