How do I stop Asus LED monitor flickerings

December 4, 2010 at 22:13:35
Specs: Windows 7
my asus LED monitor flickers whenever I access yahoo & facebook, and all other websites?

It flickers whenever the cursor moves or when I touch the (touch) pad. When programs run simultaneously, e.g. Adobe Photoshop
& MS Word with internet browsing, monitor doesn't flicker with programs but only when I access e.g. yahoo or facebook.

Is this a continuous flicker or a one-time flicker that you are talking about ?

Check your refresh rate, make sure it is high enough. Check your monitor cables to be sure the ends are secured tight enough. Did you load the drivers for your monitor? Or are you using the default windows monitor drivers? Also try updating your video driver (there may be important new info needed for LED monitors that are not in the original driver). Make sure you do not have excessive programs running in the background that might be overloading your CPU or RAM (especially with shared video memory). Finally try swapping monitors with another computer, this might tell you if it is in the monitor or the computer. If the monitor, and new, return for replacement.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
If all else fails, read instructions.

my computer does the same thing.. there are two lights one on the left and right & they constantly flicker! It's so annoying & I've tried to fix the refresh rate it won't let me. Going to the Asus website and getting help is useless they charge you for an answer. Help! Anyone know how to shut the flickering lights off?? It constantly flickers as long as the computer is on.

You should install the drivers that came with the monitor.

You should update the drivers of all the hardware in your PC, including mouse and keyboard.

You should install the service pack for Win 7 if you have not yet done so.

EDIT: Is it an independent LED monitor attached to the notebook or is it the notebook's own screen that is flickering ?
