Solved How do I repair dll errors on my Dell Inspriron 1564 Laptop?

Specs: Windows 7, 2.13GHZ/4.00 GB 320 Gigs
Running Windows 7 on an Dell Inspiron Laptop.

After my laptop hard drive crashed and would not allow windows to open up, I had no other choice than to re-image the laptop; afterwards, it was restored to factory default settings and it appeared to work perfectly, signed on and off like operating a light switch.

Also, installed the Microsoft Works Suite and Anti Virus protection.

How can I correct the following two (2) error messages?

C:\Windows\System 32\authui.dll is either not designed to run on windows or it contains an error. Try re-installing using original media software or contacting administrator or software vendor for support.

C:\Windows\system 32\WINBRAND.dll, same problem as above.

Since I don't have the original media software for re-installation, is there any remedy, on-line or otherwise that you recommend, where this and possibly other errors can be diagnosed corrected?

It's slowing everything down, control alt delete and/or ESC are either delayed or don't function, when everything freezes up. Sometimes, I have to restart the laptop multiple times and that's usually by manually using the power button to shut down.

Try this:

And consider replacing the outdated MS Works with a modern freebie. Plenty available here, I recommend King Soft Office:
