Sounds like it's saying you have hardware trouble not software. Check in BIOS to see if the hard drive is showing and if so ensure it is first in the boot order.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Reboot is only restarting.
Factory restore is to replace the system completely with the original version as it was shipped from the factory. This wipes out all of your files and installed programs so ONLY do it if you have a good back up of your files. This is NOT the option of there is a problem potentially with the hard drive, either bad or not being recognized (or any hardware related issue).

You DO need to see if the hard drive is bad or a setting in the BIOS has changed to prevent it from being bootable. As above, check the BIOS settings first. If the drive is recognized or can be properly set in the BIOS but still does not boot. you can test the drive by making a bootable disk or flash drive with Seatools from Seagate and run the short drive test.
You can also see f the drive is accessible by booting to a Live Linux disk (Puppy Linux or other, boot to it off the disk but do not install it on the computer. If you can "Mount the drive" and see your files then the drive is likely good and you will need to repair the boot sector (Start Up Repair). Details depending on what version of Windows you have (or other OS).

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
