How do I make windows 7 list all drives

March 16, 2011 at 12:53:13
Specs: Windows 7
I want to see a list of all the drives on my computer when I open the "Computer" page that shows a list of some of the drives, i.e. "C", "D", "E". ? I am running Windoows & Ultimate.

Thanks, Jim

Computer should show a comprehensive list. If you want to see a more detailed list, go to Windows Disk Management.

BTW, ultimate is the version of Windows 7 you have. It is not a separate item.

What do you mean you did not find anything?

What is it you are looking for? A complete list of ALL drives in your system can be found at Disk Management.

The list will show which labeled partitions are in which physical hard drives.

List will include any optical drives.

Will list any external attached drives and any installed memory cards or flash drives.

What more is there?

I want the entire list to appear when I open "Computer" without having to go to "Disk Management" to see the list. Right now all I see is the C,D,E and the CD/DVD drive
"F". I used to see all the other disks. But can't see them now. I had to reinstall Windows 7. Since then they don't appear.

Are you opening Computer in full screen?

What other drives are there to see?

All the disk drive letters that are associated with the various USB ports etc.

USB ports don't show up as drive letters unless there is a HDD or flash drive, phone, etc. plugged into them.

They did before I had to reinstall Windows 7. I am not kidding!

Do you have storage devices connected to those USB ports?
