Double click on the speaker icon on the task bar (lower right) on your screen and make your adjustments from there if the manual volume control lacks the range.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

You might need a power amplifier for your speakers. One way to
accomplish that would be to connect the audio output from your
computer to an audio input on your stereo system. Then the sound
comes out of your stereo's speakers. Another way would be to
buy a separate, small amplifier for your computer's speakers, or
to buy speakers with small amplifiers built in. Such speakers need
to be plugged in to a power source as well as the audio source.
Or you might need a higher-powered sound card in your computer,
that puts out a stronger signal to your speakers.

If you are playing your movies on a laptop, you are more likely to
need one of those solutions.
