"Waiting for cache" has nothing to do with it having insufficient space, you have misunderstood the cause of the problem.

What you need to do is flush the cache because it has grown to large, that's why it's taking much longer for Chrome to read it.

See this page for instructions on how to empty the cache:

Chrome sucks anyway, it's RAM usage is very inefficient. Do yourself (and your PC) a favour by switching to Firefox.

I suggest you download/install CCleaner-Slim & use it regularly. You should have it & use it regardless of your browser of choice.

Is cleanup cache and other components on exit; is there a way of not using cache - as I look at different pages each time I browse!

Use the link in response #2, download & install CCleaner-Slim, then run the cleaner & the registry scanner. Remove everything they find. It will clean out all the accumulated internet files - temp internet, history, cookies, etc. It's perfectly safe, no need to backup. The 1st time you run it may take a few minutes. Don't be surprised if it purges over 1GB of useless garbage. After the initial run, it will run much faster - seconds rather than minutes.

And consider changing your browser to Firefox. As phil22 said, Chrome sucks.
