In Firefox, click on Tools / Addons / Extensions and check, whether you can uninstall the toolbar from there.

I am having the same problem. Since I installed the Beta version of Firefox 4, the Jookz Tool Bar installs itself as my home page. I have changed my home page back to Google a half dozen times, but each time I restart Firefox, Jookz is back -- uninvited! I also found the Jookz search engine among the half dozen others listed on Firefox's tool bar and removed it. Then, I found in Windows Control Panel that the Jookz Tool Bar had somehow been installed without my knowledge. I imediately uninstalled it, but when I opened Firefox again, Jookz was again listed as mu home page!!! Does anyone know where this malware comes from and how to get rid of it???

Maybe you installed the Toolbar, itself but not the plug-in from firefox.
Can you uninstall the plug-in in firefox / tools / add-ons?

I have th same problem, is just that this jooz engine must be named joke search engine. I mean, I used it twice just to test if it was good or not and its terrible, is even worst than www.godaddy.com

Now since they can not get any visit by their own, they have to recurr to malware to get visits, even that this not mean for they to get any web search at all, when I start firfox I have to tipe www.google.com any time, this bar is not getting any way any new search, its only annoying users.

If I were employee of that web site, I would be really ashame, even more if I were the creator of that site. I feel that there is a homeless in my firefox asking me for spare change any time that I open the page

i got it!
was having the same problem.
jookz doesnt seem to be a virus, the privacy policy tells you it collects data on surfing habits etc. etc ad nauseum.
in my case, it was a prerequisite of another program, honestech dvd recorder.
inorder to use it, your default search and homepage must be jookz!
im pretty sure i never agreed to that!
what you have to do, is find the offending program, and remove it.
then uninstall the toolbar from control panel.
then set everything back how you want it, and restart.
et voila! t'interwebs are useable again!

problem is, no one ever reads the license agreement when they install new software. me included.
cant be bothered, sign my name to anything, give you the rights to read my mind with lasers, and agree to rub my nipples against the screen twice daily!

case in point:
http://www.bit-tech.net/news/gaming...

we really all should read the blurb with any software we install.
but we wont.
reading is too much effort!

peace

Everyone should start their own post! You should read the above advice and then if you are still having a problem then ask your own question!

To Restate: Control Panel>Programs click on the program and click uninstall. Then open your browser Tools>add ons and remove it from there. Then choose your own search bar if you like and then reset your home page.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
