So how is your RAID setup?

What changes were made to the system that started this issue?

You say you can boot into Windows 7 -- I don't know what caused your black screen. Windows 7 has a Repair Disc that may be of help. Any computer can make the repair disc to be used on your computer. Start -- control panel -- Backup and Restore Icon -- at the left side -- Create a system repair disc. You may need to boot to CD/DVD -- At start up start tapping the ESC key (left top corner on your keyboard) and make the cd/dvd selection -- Put the Repair Disc into your Tray -- press enter key to restart. -------------- If the ESC key doesn't bring up the cd/dvd selection, try F12 key. F12 key on my HP computer brings up the Repair option at the top of the list.

I suggest you first take steps to a safeguard your personal files - all the "stuff" you wouldn't wish to lose...

Boot into win-7 and copy "all" your "stuff" to external media; typically DVD but if possible also an external HD. Verify the copies are truly accessible on at least one other working system - as well the one that made them (if possible).

Then if per chance "anything" goes a miss when fixing the current problem, at least your personal "stuff" is safe elsewhere; and be easily restored to the HD when all is well again later...
