Specs: Windows 7, Does it matter????
Web browser crashes on opening it up. What else do you need to know. Can't get to the internet because the browser crashes on start up with an error box. When you close the error box the browser closes.

✔ Best Answer
Try resetting IE and then opening it up again....sounds like some bad addons causing the problem.
You can also try an alternate browser to see if that works for you. If you have to you can download an alternate on a different PC to a USB drive and then installing it on the problem PC.

Start-Control Panel-Network and Internet-Internet Options

Go to "Advanced" and un-check "Enable third-party browser extensions".
Hit OK and try to open your browser.

Thanks for you suggestions. I downloaded IE9 AND IE10 onto a flash drive here at home and took it to the Museum computer and tried to install IE9 and I got the message that IE9 was already installed. So I tried to install IE10 and I got the message that a newer version was already installed. I had looked in Windows update before and I could not find that a browser was installed but I thought I would try one more time. This time I found that IE10 update was indeed present. So I did a uninstall of IE10 and when I got done and started up the computer I tried opening the IE browser and IE9 open up and was running completely normal with no error messages. From what I read I am better off with IE9 anyway so that is the end of my story and thanks for all the various help.

Internet Explorer has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

I have not figured out what the problem is/was but I uninstalled IE10 and now have IE9 running without the problem. Thanks for your input.

I wasn't sure about the browser if it was IE 9 or IE 10. It turned out to be IE 10. I did an uninstall and now IE 9 is running without a problem. So for now all is well. Thanks
