Specs: Windows 7 Ultimate, 2GB Memory
Okay so this is the second time this has happened!!!!!! First time it happened i nuked my computer and reinstalled Windows 7 Ultimate. So here's what happens, I'm just on my computer doing my thing and all of a sudden my head set stops working so i restart my computer and find that the same thing happened.

1. My internet still works yet my logo in the bottom right hand corner on the taskbar says there is no internet available.
2. My sound does not work AT ALL Period!
3. When i go into my computer i find that the little windows logo hovering above the hard disk picture is gone.
4.Command prompt is disabled.
5.System restore does not work (System Restore does not appear to be functioning correctly on this system - A Volume Shadow Copy Service component encountered an unexpected error. Check the application event log for more information (0x80042302)
6.Cannot create a backup
7. Cannot open up properties on my computer if i right click on computer in the start menu.

My computer is a compaq BTW

That pretty much sums it up

Any help is appreciated

Thanks

did windows 7 come installed on this PC or is it an upgrade?

To fix system restore, turn it off, then turn it back on and it will save your points.

sounds like you may have to use the repair my computer option, tap f8 on bootup and select that. See what options you have for repair. There is something corrupt in your windows installation.

I presume you did try the windows 7 advisor before you upgraded?
