And first ensure you have duplicates of the unedited images; just in-case you change your mind after editing and saving the edit?

No self respecting, professional editor of video or photos would edit anything with first ensuring there are clean safe duplicates of the originals - safely stored away from the editing package....

Search Google for Free Photo Editing Software, plenty to choose from.

For more advanced editing and colour management you should consider buying Photoshop Elements:

https://www.johnlewis.com/adobe-pho...

It's the nearest thing to the mighty, industry-standard Photoshop at a fraction of the price.

Note also that you may have installed the software that came free with your camera in the past and used that software originally. Now that it was rebuilt (reinstalled?) you need to go back and find the disk or download it from the camera company's web site to have the same editing software again.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Several references out there which you can use, and if you want to do it in bit different way, then try editng images using paint, https://www.techjunkie.com/edit-ima... even you can use it as a text editor too https://youprogrammer.com/edit-text... , but if you want to go with online editor then use pixlor https://pixlr.com/editor/
