How do I download Raw files from my flashcard

My computer will not recognise these files.

Raw means the card isn't formatted. You need to format it to be able to use it.

Thanks for info. it works on a direct link from camera to my wifes laptop, but not to my computer. tansfering them to dongal from laptop to computer also does not work. both running 7. Nikon 70s.

You can either run the Nikon software as mentioned above or go to the Nikon Web site and see if there is a driver for your computer that will run under Win 7. You are obviously missing a driver for this camera on your computer.

EDIT RAW means it is the raw data image before it is made into any other format. Some cameras copy the RAW data to the card and others do not. Access your camera menu if you do not want the RAW image. It is typically a rather large file.

The raw images are not recognized within windows unless you have the Nikon software installed. Then you will have more options on updating the image before saving them in a more standard file format like JPEG, etc.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
If all else fails, read instructions.
