how can recover my mobile footage from a shortcut folder?

Specs: Windows 7, 500 gb ram/ core i3
Sir I transfer a 8 gb video footage to my laptop from my sony ericsson mobile. every thing was transfer. but i can't watch again in my laptop. because it shows like a short cut folder. If I go to select all and windows play list, it is playing with out sound. but I can't find where is it? and can't copy to other area.. now how can I find my important video footage ? please tell and help

You cannot transfer from playlist, it is only a shortcut (link) to the original file, you need to find the original and do a copy/paste. Rather than open Computer and C drive (or whatever drive it is on) and search for the folder that has the file, just click the start orb and type in the name of the file in the search to find it.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

.... or right mouse click on the shortcut icon then select properties and it will tell you where the file is located.
