You will need to do something like what X86 has suggested. The recovery console supports only the builtin commands and there is no way to run an external command such as xcopy.

I think you can run programs from other media than the boot drive. If one has a second partition or even a usb drive I think they can run xcopy and others. You just can't run it from the boot drive.

I mean the command prompt on booted dvd.(or usb).

Might be able to use the software that hard drive makers offer. They usually have programs just for that.
