Solved How can I get Scrabble 2003 to install on Windows 7?

Specs: Windows 7
Trying to install Scrabble 2003 on Windows 7 PC. The install starts OK but then DirectX 8.1 error message appears - it says "line missing from computer", or something similiar. Should I install DirectX 8.1? If so, where can I find a safe free download?

Try installing
http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/down...

As far as I know this setup contains version 9, which (should) be compatible with directX 8.1

Thanks for your suggestion. I did the download but unfortunately I still get error message. This is exactly what it says:

DirectX 8.1 Oject error
Number -9
Description: Unknown error
File: c:\Professional\Source\Objects\DirectX 8.1 Object\Script files\Setup.rul
Line: 308
Script error -9

Any more suggestions I'll be grateful,

Hi Purpleworzel (I had a strange urge to type your username)

Have tried running the executable in Xp compatibility mode?

Hi and thanks for your follow up.

Xp compatibility mode doesn't always work so very happy for your outcome.
