Why not update to a newer version which may be more compatible?

What do you suggest? I don't like Photoshop Elements. Don't have or see a source for PhotoDeluxe 4.0. 3.1 meets my needs, and I'm very familiar with it.

Try to install it in compatibility mode.

GIMP (free) does everything that full Photoshop can do.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Thanks. I'll try the compatibility mode approach. Re: GIMP .... I have had full Photoshop 6 on an XP for years, but don't use it; I much prefer PhotoDeluxe. If I can't get the old program to work on W7, I'll probably try GIMP. Thanks for the suggestions.

Well, if you don't use Photoshop 6 then you probably won't use GIMP either. They do pretty well exactly the same thing and you are probably more used to Photoshop's layout (which is the main difference).

One of the things I do happen to like about GIMP is the easy way to find your pictures by forming a listed tree of locations (which you can alter).

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
