I know little about this program but with most software the best way is to download it and save it as a file first rather then running it online. Check the download file name and make sure you know where the computer put it (use Save As). Depending on what it is you usually double click the saved file to install it.

If this isn't working for you give us the link (website) you are downloading it from and tell us where it goes wrong.

By saving the file, as suggested above, it is possible to determine whether it is "downloading" that is giving trouble or "installing".

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

✔ Best Answer
I suspect the OP is actually wanting to install it on a Win7 machine. From what I Googled, it appears to be an older "home-office" package (similar to MS Works) and saved its' files to a proprietary format (little turned up in the matter of converting the files).

Phyllis, if the above is true, then you'll need to find the original installation media (disks/CD) and install on your Win7 machine. It appears that it doesn't work on anything above Win9x, so if you install it you'll need to try running it in "compatibility mode" (see below) and move the files from the old machine over to the new one.

If your computer is 64 bit and the program is 16 bit then it will not be possible to run it unless you use a virtual machine.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

I've been using "Arkose" since Win.95 on ALL my pc's up to and including Win.10,
both 32/64 systems. Very simple ! Only problem...you need the disc w/ the program.
All you do is run the program fm the disc, or, send the program to "my docs" and run it from there. Use it either way. Once there.......
dbl/clk Arkose, dbl/clk Arkose, dbl/clk AWORKS (1839 kb) file, and Bingo !
It works for me. One advantage using from the disc- it "enciphers" your info
from anyone w/o the disc or program, but it prints in the open.
Note.. transfer the programs files on the old PC to a flash drive, or disc and use from there as stated above.
Update......transfer program from flash to your "Documents".. Go thru the above steps and at the file ((1839 kb) right clk it, choose make
"Short Cut". Now you can clk the icon on your desktop and use as
a reg. prog.
