Solved HDD head moved into safe position due to vibration detected

Specs: Windows 7
Because of vibration detection the hard drive goes in safe position.
After that the information disappears and the computer is unworkable.

That's a safety feature to prevent the hard drive being damaged when you move the laptop while the laptop is running.

Turn the laptop off, put it down on a flat surface and turn it back on.

Some laptops give you the option to adjust the sensitivity. I've seen it on Toshibas, for example, in the 'Toshiba/extras' folder. Can't find anything on the Dell i'm currently using so I guess it's not a standard on every laptop. If it's an old machine then I would run the manufacturer's diagnostic on the drive, as it may be an indication of a developing issue. If it's a bfairly new machine then I would take it back for repair under warranty.
