have external enclosure hdd on desktop server

Specs: win 7, 64 bit desktop
I have external enclosure hdd on desktop server connected through usb but unable to boot from it? The OS is solaris v10 which works fine when I connect it through my notebook pc but when I take out the hdd IDE drive & connect throug USB enclosure & than go to boot options & boot from USB but unable to boot from it - goes back to default win 7 menu's. How to boot from Solaris through usb?

First your systems BIOS must support the capability of booting from USB.

If it does, you need to go into you BIOS and set the boot order such that USB is before the hard drive in boot order. That way when your system attempts to start up it will first look for bootable devices on the USB ports. If it does not find any then it will look to boot from the hard drive.
