Isn't that a bit like putting a bit of tape over the oil warning light in your automobile?

If you are competent with computer repairs you should consider replacing the hard disk (at the very least, follow the recommendation to back up your data regularly). Otherwise you may want to get a computer repair shop to look at it.

Run ADWCleaner by Malwarebytes and Malwarebytes to confirm if Malware is present is a good first step as well as backing up your data to an external drive.
If no malware or it does not go away, consider replacing the drive really soon.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Now you have disabled smart reporting in the bios, run these checks.

Extract from your manual.
