If you refer to GWBasic packaged with ancient DOS releases as 3.30, there is no hope since Windows 7 is NT kernel based (no DOS at all) and more it doesn't support DOS full screen mandatory for graphic applications in 640x480 VGA mode. Anyway GWBasic was superseded by QBasic since DOS 5.00. It can run under Win7 but inside a virtual machine like MS Virtual PC with DOS as guest operating system and this is another story.

It isn't something that can be 'sent'. Rather than trying to run it on a Windows 7 machine you would be better off getting hold of an old pre-XP machine and using Q-Basic on that - it came included with Win95, possibly Win98. If you are not even sure about what GWBasic is, I rather suspect that running anything on a virtual machine may be a bit beyond what you can do.

Yep, a virtual machine is the way to go.

Might run in dosbox, dunno though.

You're a teacher and you spell like that? No wonder our school system is failing.

GW-Basic is a very old basic interpreter designed for DOS. According to Wikipedia it was first released in 1983 and last updated in 1988. That predates any even remotely modern version of Windows so it should not be surprising that it will not run properly, if at all, on Windows 7. If this is 64 bit Windows 7 there is no hope of it running at all outside of a virtual machine.

The easiest way to run GW-Basic would be to run it under DOSBox. According to the DOSBox website it is compatible.

I found this site that may fit your need

http://www.oocities.org/KindlyRat/G...

read that page carefully and be aware under Windows 7 GWBasic MUST run inside DOSBox (free, Google for it) or a virtual machine (MS Virtual PC or Open Source VirtualBox, both free too). However a virtual machine needs a copy of DOS as guest OS and some systems experience I believe beyond your actual knowledge.
