got a new comp graphics card issues

Specs: Windows 7
I got a new HP and installed my old galaxy geforce gts 250 - 512MB DDR3 256 bit graphics card into the system. When I tried to start my computer up nothing happened. No power or anything. When I took it out the computer started up. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? My specs: AMD Athalon II 645 quad core, 6GB DDR3, and 1.5 TB hard drive. Sorry the specs are so vague.

The computer's power supply may not have enough power to supply the video card, you may need to upgrade it. Your graphics card also should need a 6 pin graphics power connector, which probably is not supplied with the basic power supply that came with the stock system.

An actual model number would allow someone to look up the included components to verify this, but this is the most likely case.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
