Getting Error in copying files

Specs: Windows 7, intel i7 2600k / 4GB
While copying large no. of files i am getting this error "there is not enough free memory quit one or more programs and then try again"
I have pressed on retry button then copying continues to next file but again it comes for another file i have to do this again and again until copying finished.
I have lots of free space still i get this error.
I have tested RAM also i replaced it but error comes.
Can you please tell me what are the reason of this error even if i have plenty of space available?
Is there any need to change in registry?

Try the copy operation in Safe Mode.

Storage space is NOT what the message is referring to. When copying files RAM is used.

What do you consider a large number of files and what are the sizes of the files? Where are you copying them to?
