Specs: Windows 7
I have a little cpu and ram meter on my desktop and ram more often then not at 95% plus and slow. Does windows 7 use so much ram there is little left for complex tasks like photo editing?

Firstly, how much memory do you actually have? Windows 7 by itself is not that much of a 'RAM hog', but you could have other programs chewing more ram than need be. You can see what is chewing ram by right clicking on your taskbar and clicking 'Start Task Mangler' - then click the 'Processes' tab. It will list the process names and also ' Memory (private working set)'. This will show (in kb) how much ram each application is chewing.

I know I am dragging on a bit, but if there are lots of apps that you don't need, you can disable them my holding down the 'Windows' and 'R' keys on your keyboard and typing 'msconfig'. Go to the 'startup' tab and disable any unnecessary programs. Restart your pc. This will stop programs starting automatically and leave you with a lot more free memory. (Just an obvious note - DO NOT remove 'Microsoft Windows Operating System').

Let me know how you go!
