Specs: gateway
I have a frozen laptop mouse but the internet works when I turn it on . I didn't spill anything on it. Is there any way the mouse usage can be recovered? What exactly happened to it

It's known as a "touchpad", so see if it is enabled there.

Are you using the touchpad on the laptop itself or do you have an esternal mouse connected via USB?

If you're using the touchpad on the laptop, there could be a button somewhere near the touchpad that turns it off or on.

If you're using an external Mouse, try using different USB ports.

Let us know what you find so we can help as much as possible!

I'm using the mouse touchpad on the laptop, and it still dosen't seem to work. I've tried to restart it, allow it time to sit. I'm not sure where the turn off switch is located I am now using a wireless mouse in the mean time. I would really like to understand what truly happened to it. Thanks

If you give us the model number of the laptop we might be able to help further.

By the way, in your specs, the operating system is whatever Windows you are using, such as Windows 7. Gateway is the computer brand.

This was great advice, thank-you much for it although I am a bit confused since I have the wireless mouse plugged in, It has information on it as well. Everything is enabled here and it says it does work only then when I try it and then nothing. I'm not sure what seems to be the problem but it may be bigger than just the mouse not working.

I apprecaite your help, thanks again ~

Thank-you Derek and Newbie10 for your help, I found the solution. It now works. :) I somehow( when hitting my keys) pressed F6 key on the keyboard which is to disable your touch pad. I typed on-line " How to fix your touchpad on ehow". It led me straight through the steps allowing me to re track my own to seing where I orginally disabled it.

Thank-you for your help once again & God bless.
Hope to help others
