Files on old hard drive I need

Specs: Windows 64
hooking up two drives with different OS How? I am now running win7 64bit but need files from a hard drive off old comp. that has winXP Pro 32bit. Can I just hook up the old sata hard drive to motherboard? I Really Need help!!!!

just hook it up, but be sure the drive setting in the bios says to boot from the correct drive.

i hate computers!
but cant help myself....

The first time I tried that It would not even recognize my ssd hard drive with windows 7 it just showed the old hard drive and tried to boot from that with no avail.

Make sure your SSD drive is plugged into SATA0 port. If it is in a higher numbered port that the one you are plugging in, it may try to default to the wrong drive. Then open your BIOS set up and set the boot order so the drive you just added is NOT in the boot order, just the SSD drive. You also may have a setting that will to designate the driver bootable or not, if so then make it not bootable.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
