Specs: Windows 7
External HD wiped with DBAN, cannot see it as a USB HD. Used HD as internal with Win 7 new install. Have a 2nd HD with Win 7, not seen as an external HD. Both HDs are good.

Where are you looking for it? Drive won't show in Windows Computer until it is partitioned and formatted. Look for it in Windows Disk Management.

As OtheHill said, the HDD needs to be partitioned & formatted before Windows will see it. Why did you use DBAN?

I am having the same problem. I used DBAN as I am giving a HDD away and needed to try my best to clean it beforehand and this was the one that kept coming up on loads of different sites, although I must admit it took 19 hours to do a 500GB HDD so would have preferred a quicker one.

Just out of curiosity, don't you still have a need for storage of your files? If so, why give away that drive?
