In Firefox :

1. Open up a Firefox window.
2. Click on the "Bookmarks" menu and select "Manage Bookmarks..."
3. Click on the "File" menu and select "Export" in the window that pops up.
4. Give your bookmarks whatever title you like and choose a location to save them, in the save window that comes up.

In IE8:

1. On the File menu, click Import and Export, and then click Next.
2. Select "Import from a file" and click "Next"
3. Select "Favorites" and click "Next".
4. Browse the file you saved and click "Next".

You can also use Google to locate "Xmarks". This is a Firefox add-on that enables you to upload your Bookmarks to a central record and then download them to all the computers you use. They are also transferable to IE8. It is an extremely useful add-on and quite candidly I wouldn't be without it. There is nothing worse than being away from home with your laptop and the site address you desperately need is on the desk-top at home.

Oops....my bad.......not "File" than "Import and Export" >> "Export HTML". Then choose location for the *.html file, and press OK. Now you can import it in IE8....

Good Luck!

Why do you manually open the "Bookmark file" ?

Once you saved it, open IE8 and follow the instructions in Response # 1.
