Whenever i start my computer and log into windows i cant click on anthing on my desktop. my cusor moves around, but when i click on something nothing happens. I've found a tempary way to fix it by pressing alt-ctrl-del and clicking task manager then for some reason i can click icons and the start menu and use my desktop. i thought i might had a virus so i just did a clean install, but im stiall having the same prob.

Ok, I found the problem. Im, not sure why, but it was the mouse I was using. I switched to a different mouse and it doesn't do that anymore. Thanks for the help.

is windows 7 an upgrade or did the PC come with it installed? You have said nothing about make, model, etc...so we are just guessing....

Thanks for the reply, yes, specs usually help us to sort things out. We have no idea on how much ram, etc is in the PC.
Open device manager and see if all the drivers have no yellow ! marks beside them. If they do, update the drivers.
