Solved Every minute Numlock appears, panels close

September 7, 2011 at 09:09:51
Specs: Windows 64, 8GB
My Computer keeps closing Control Panel Items, and other Program Congfiguration Windows (presumably .msc windows) periodically every minute. I've looked in the Events viewer and there also appears to be a process attempting to call the ATI CCC process from the MOM.exe every minute. This also triggers the NumLock indicator to appear at the same time. Unfortunately, closing the CCC and MOM.exe services does not solve the problem. Does anybody know how to solve this? I think it has something to do with ATI processes but it could also be a virus / trojan. Has anybody else had this problem before?

It's really annoying.

God knows what would happen if i tried to play a game on this system.

Can anybody show me how to find out what's causing it so i can kill it?

Theres not much on there apart from a description telling me what MOM.exe is which i already know.

Sorry Johnw.

I need to find out which application is calling an event and causing it to shut down windows and set the NUMLOCK ON state in the computer. I'm guessing this might have something to do with the Event Viewer but I'm not sure how to use it properly.

If you still think you are possibly infected, run more than one check.

Going down the event viewer path.
