Specs: Windows 7
I'm at the end of my rope here ... everyone keeps telling me there is just no way to do this. Old laptop died and I just want to connect my new wireless laptop without media center to my media center computer downstairs. Now, they're not networked wirelessly and the down stairs computer is running XP. My wireless modem is also downstairs so ...
I want to do a Xbox via Ethernet to the laptop and link the laptop to my Media Center downstairs ...
Win 7 won't even allow the connect through 7starter on the laptop ... ~?!?!?!

I'm not sure that an xbox would just connect to a Laptop / PC, but if it does i would imagine it would be similar to 2 computers connecting to each other which would require a swicth or cross over cable. Then you would have the problem of how they would talk to each other. the laptop can share connections so as i said it what the laptop would detect the xbox as and how it would talk to it?

Ok ... this is the flow ... from Ethernet on Xbox to Win Starter 7 laptop that is networked wi-fi to an XP media center computer downstairs.
At the start I can't get the Xbox to get to the web through Win Starter 7. If I can't get it that far ... I can't get it to the XP media center downstairs. The first problem is the incompatable Xbox and Win 7 ... if there is a fix for this .... I can't find it. I guess once I got past this HUGE insane hurdle maybe I could wi-fi network to the XP computer downstairs???
