Enabling second SATA HDD on Win 7

Specs: Windows 7

I have recently bought two identical new 1TB HDDs and installed a fresh version of win7.

Both drives are detected by BIOS and both drives appear in device manager within windows, but I only have one drive in "my computer", of 1TB size, labelled C:\

When I go into device manager it gives me the option to 'disable' the C drive but there is no option to 'enable' the other drive.

I did originally intend on setting the drives up on RAID but couldn't manage to figure it out, so I now want to at least get both drives working, as I know that setting them up on RAID now would mean another fresh install of windows.

Thanks in advance!

Have you created partitions and formatted the second hard drive?

Go into disk management and you should see the drive there if it is not formatted. You can then partition and format as you desire.

When everything else fails, read the instructions.

If it does not show up in Disk Management, check in your BIOS, you may have actually set up RAID and do not know it. In RAID (1) mirroring Windows will treat the array as one 'C' drive

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
