Enable port 162 Windows 7 firewall

March 19, 2012 at 10:32:46
Specs: Windows 7
I need to enable port 162 so the SNMP service can send traps out. How do I enable port 162 through the Windows 7 firewall? I have the SNMP service up and running already.

Cor blimey Microsoft have details:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/...

Googling is quicker than waiting for an answer....

Thank you for the replay. I have set a rule for the outbound side of the firewall to accomdate port 162. I've discovered the real problem is in the OS. When I do a netstat -ano and port 162 is not among those listed. So this leads me to the conclusion that I must turn this port on some how. Any ideas?
Thanks
