Canon only offer drivers for Windows 3.x / W9x / ME & 2000, it must be a very old printer ! Googling is quicker than waiting for an answer....
That printer was introduced back when Win95 was the latest version of Windows. It uses a parallel port. Are you connecting it to a parallel port? Is the port configured in Windows 7? If the above are true then try the Windows 7 hardware wizard. Failing that I suggest you retire the printer. Cartridges must be getting expensive.
You can buy a black laser printer for little cash these days that will work on Windows 7 VIA USB connection.
If you do have it connected and the OS is seeing it, you can use the HP LaserJet 5 driver for it. Canons & HPs are basicly the same printer rebadged for each company. The HP 5 driver will work on every HP LaserJet printer ever made. You may not get all the bells and whistles from the new printers but basic printing will work fine.
I downloaded this "l036_enx" from Canon Europe. and ir runs on my XP SP3
as an NT version. So as win7 has an xp compatibility mode, one would think it would
install and run as an XP program I've got a lot of old stuff to work with my 7 laptop.
